A message from Randy Dustin, Innkeeper at the Firehouse Inn:
I am a New England Yankee, born and raised. I am from Vermont and love this beautiful area, even when it's cold! I met my wife eight years ago and our families united, very similar to the "Brady Bunch." Once our last chick left the nest, we moved to Rhode Island to be closer to family.
We spent three years in Newport enjoying the sun, sails and bags of donuts from The Mooring restaurant. Then, my wife and I took a vacation to the Caribbean where we found paradise amongst the clear blue water and the daily 85 degree weather. We ended up staying to manage a small resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
After a year and two hurricanes, Irma and Maria, our northern roots brought us back to Rhode Island. My background is in catering, so I took my skills and shifted careers to the Bed and Breakfast industry here in Newport. I have a passion for cooking and I love to watch television shows like 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.' These shows can be an inspiration for the meals I prepare for guests at the Inn. My goal is to make tasty and unique breakfast dishes you wouldn't typically make for yourself at home.
Travel, food, fun are what inspire me. I try my best to live, laugh and love every day. I will do my very best to make your stay the best it can be. I want you to feel at home here at the Firehouse Inn and turn your experience from "arriving as strangers" into "leaving as friends."
